GiGi's Playhouse USA
Merlin's Magic Wand and SEA LIFE transform playarea at Down Syndrome Achievement Centre
Some children are faced with conditions and circumstances that prevent them from visiting and experiencing the magic of Merlin’s many attractions. This is why Merlin’s Magic Wand Children’s Charity invests in ‘Merlin's Magic Spaces’.
This local outreach project was designed to ensure that local children who face challenges of severe illness, physical disability and other exceptional circumstances still have the opportunity to experience the unique magic of Merlin.
One of the latest projects was GiGi’s Playhouse in Minnesota, USA, a network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centres working towards achieving acceptance for individuals with Down Syndrome. The Playhouse offers free therapeutic and educational support to individuals with Down Syndrome, regardless of skill level or financial background.
Merlin’s Magic Wand have worked with SEA LIFE to renovate GiGi’s existing play area and transform it into a fun, colourful and stimulating space. Over 150 families will explore this new space each week.
Visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy the SEA LIFE themed room with its huge interactive submarine, magnetic portholes and mesmerising colour changing bubble tubes. Wave machines, lifelike graphics and heaps of under the sea toys help to put the final touches on this immersive, marine lounge and play area.
