First steps to adventure
The Bear Grylls Adventure breaks ground at NEC
Work is now well underway at the NEC Birmingham to bring our newest Merlin brand to life. Our £20 million, 8,000 square meter attraction, The Bear Grylls Adventure will open later this year so start getting excited!
We take inspiration from Bear’s real-life expeditions across mountains, deserts and jungles around the world, so guests can test their limits with amazing challenges. We know that 4 in 5 adults are actively looking for more adventure in their leisure time so this is the perfect time for us to open our doors.
On site at the moment the installation of external and dividing walls is being finalised, foundations for the iFLY indoor skydiving wind tunnel are being dug and development of the structural walls for the enormous 886m3 diving tank is also underway. The attraction will use number of local building material suppliers and will employ more than 200 staff during construction.
What are the activities?
- High Ropes
- Basecamp – a collection of four mental, physical, group and individual challenges designed to help you learn the core skills for adventure.
Prices and activity times will vary for different activities with Basecamp entry tickets starting at £25.
