The Keys To The Castle: Warwick Castle Announces The Launch Of Medieval Hotel Opening This Summer

This summer, Warwick Castle is launching a medieval themed hotel that will transport guests back to simpler times, with additional  modern touches. Opening to guests on 22 July, the Warwick Castle Hotel will offer guests an unforgettable experience as authentic history is brought to life to entertain and inspire creativity for the entire family.

As guests step into the hotel, they will be met by a magnificent rearing animatronic horse and the epic Knight, the Earl of Warwick, riding on its back in the hotel foyer. As they wander on, families will come face to face with talking historic portraits that give guests an insight into the centuries of history that have taken place inside Warwick Castle’s grounds.

Tying beautifully into the castle's surroundings, the exterior of the hotel resembles a medieval long hall, with a rough cast render, timber cladding and shingle roof tiles. Each room in the hotel gives a nod to the Wars of the Roses, with rose motifs, chambers draped in rich coloured fabrics and featuring wooden beams and shields – fit for any king or queen!

During the daytime, guests can discover the castle grounds and all the fun experiences Warwick Castle has to offer, including jousting tournaments with the Wars of the Roses LIVE! and getting up close and personal with feathered friends with The Falconer’s Quest. Then, following in the footsteps of the castle courtiers, residents can venture through the immersive treetop walkway to the Knight’s Village, where guests can dine and be entertained like royalty in a medieval banquet hall.

Warwick Castle has spent years of planning and invested £16.4 million into the hotel development, which will see its already comprehensive accommodation offering increased to accommodate over 300 overnight guests at any one time. As part of the development, Merlin Entertainments will also plant 1,000 trees in the castle grounds.

The hotel joins the existing accommodation at Warwick Castle, including Caesar’s Tower Suites, luxurious chambers hidden within the castle’s 14th century tower, the Knight’s Village Woodland Lodges, spaciously linked by wooden walkways in the woods (available to book from the 22nd March), and the Knight’s Village Medieval Glamping, for sleeping under the stars within the grounds of the castle (available to book from the 24th May).

“We are incredibly proud to announce that we will be opening the doors of the Warwick Castle Hotel to the public this July. Our brand new hotel immerses guests in Warwick’s rich history whilst also delivering modern luxuries to make the experience even more special. Our new hotel is also fantastic news for the local visitor economy, ensuring a high-quality offering for overnight visitors to showcase everything that this town has to offer.”

Liam Bartlett, General Manager at Warwick Castle
