Cadbury World Reveals Gold Medal Worthy Chocolate Creation To Celebrate British Athletes In Paris

The world’s biggest sporting event is in full swing in Paris and 46 medals have been won for Great Britain so far. As the nation celebrates the British athletes, Cadbury World today unveils a hand-crafted choc-tastic summer of sports creation, made purely out of chocolate.

The masterful Cadbury World chocolatiers have intricately crafted a chocolatey scene of 13 sports including a miniature diving board in honour of Great Britain’s most-decorated Olympian diver, Tom Daley, a Pommel horse for six-times Olympic medal winner Max Whitlock, running shoes for golden girl Keely Hodgkinson, and a javelin for six-time world champion and parasport athlete Hollie Arnold.

The podium-inspired creation is 60cm tall, weighing over 30kg, which is the equivalent of more than 600 standard Cadbury Dairy Milk bars. The gold-medal-worthy chocolate creation took the talented Cadbury World chocolatier team 3 days to make. The masterpiece was created by Cadbury World’s Dawn Jenks, Donna Oluban, Andrew Ward and Terry Collins who worked with different coloured chocolate to delicately handcraft every edible element.

The celebratory chocolate creation is on display in the Chocolate Making zone at Cadbury World, Bournville, Birmingham, this week in line with the world-famous sporting events.

“We wanted to find a way to honour our brilliant British athletes and celebrate their achievements in our own unique and chocolatey way. Our chocolatiers here at Cadbury World had a lot of fun creating this choc-tastic sports scene and are continuing the gold-medal achievement celebrations with the nation!”

Tim Waters, Regional Director at Merlin Entertainments

Cadbury World has received £8m investment from Merlin Entertainments and with that, the attraction has opened a brand new indoor trackless ride, Cadbury Chocolate Quest, as well as a revamped Bournville Experience and a newly themed interactive Have a Go zone.
