The SEA LIFE Trust has announced its first ever Patrons - John and Melanie Bishop!
John and Melanie Bishop formed a special bond with beluga whales Little Grey and Little White during filming of the ITV special ‘John Bishop's Great Whale Rescue’. The two have agreed to become the Trust’s first patrons, supporting the wider charity and their work, and shared the exciting announcement on Instagram.
Over the last two years, John and Melanie have played an instrumental role in sharing Little White & Little Grey’s journey with the world and helping to raise awareness of their story to create the world’s first Beluga Whale Sanctuary.
You can see the documentary fronted by John on the ITV hub here.
"John and Melanie have demonstrated a real commitment to what we’re trying to achieve and I’m delighted that they will remain part of our family as our first ever Patrons! They are committed to helping us to reach a wider audience and really getting 'hands on' with our sanctuaries and a range of projects which will continue to help protect marine life across the world. Their support will help us achieve even more over the coming years and we can’t thank them enough.”Andy Bool Head of the SEA LIFE Trust
In celebration of their new and important roles, John and Melanie will be joining the Beluga Whale Sanctuary team in Iceland for a special Live Q&A on the official Beluga Whale Sanctuary Instagram page this Wednesday 3rd March at 6pm GMT, with the Sanctuary's Lead Curator, Jessica.
Be sure to send your questions to John and Melanie on Instagram before tomorrow night!
