Animals at Chessington World of Adventures cool off in the UK heatwave

With UK temperatures set to soar into the thirties this week, the expert zoo team at Chessington World of Adventures Zoo have been working hard around the clock to ensure their animals are kept cool and looked after during the heatwave.

Not wanting to miss out on ice-cream weather, some of the zoo's residents including Bolivian squirrel monkeys, Rothschild’s giraffes, California sea lions & Ring-tailed coati have even been treated to refreshing animal-friendly ice lollies made from fruit and vegetables including beetroot, carrots, spring greens and watermelon. The resort's California sea lions have even been enjoying mock-‘fish’-tails as part their enrichment programme.
