LEGOLAND Windsor celebrates Captain Tom, Knight of the Realm in LEGO form

The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort has re-enacted the meeting of Captain Sir Tom Moore and Queen Elizabeth II in LEGO at its world famous Miniland attraction as the 100 year old is knighted today.

From today, the pair can be seen together outside Miniland’s very own 39,960 LEGO brick Windsor Castle. Created by the talented LEGOLAND Model Makers, miniature Capt Sir Tom Moore stands at 3cm tall and comes complete with his own LEGO brick walker.

First arriving at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort earlier this month, Capt Sir Tom Moore was created as part of a new ‘Thank You’ scene featuring more than 50 handcrafted LEGO creations of key workers and influential figures from the past three months.

It includes miniature NHS staff members, including doctors, nurses, cleaners, teachers and delivery drivers as well as the public clapping to remember how the nation came together every Thursday for the weekly ‘Clap for our Carers’. Across the backdrop is a giant rainbow made completely from LEGO bricks, the symbol of hope throughout lockdown.

More than 5,000 LEGO bricks and 40 hours went in to creating the scene by Model Maker Will Saunders. Guests can see the new LEGO Thank You as part of Miniland, where it will be on display until November.
