Third Annual Safety Week From 29th April
2019 focus on Mental Health and Wellbeing
At Merlin, safety is our number one priority. It’s engrained in all we do and central to our values and principles and we call this safety-first approach ‘Protecting the Magic’.
Protecting the Magic is about driving a positive, proactive, culture of safety across our attractions and theme parks. It helps our leaders, people and business partners identify and manage risks effectively, prevent accidents and deliver unforgettable days out.
As part of our continued efforts we hold an annual global Safety Week to share best practice and celebrate our safety culture. Each year, Safety Week focuses on a specific theme and from 29th April to 5th May this year, our third global event will focus specifically on Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Protecting the Magic is not just about creating a robust safety culture, it is also about placing the wellbeing of our employees - including their mental and physical health - as a priority too.
Good mental health gives us the resilience and focus to continually provide a safe and memorable experience for our guests. It provides us with the energy to perform at our best, and the ability to spot when those around us need a helping hand.
